AI Fan Experience Ideas for Next Year’s International Soccer Tournament

As next year’s international soccer tournament approaches, I’ve been spending time developing and testing a new AI-powered fan experience concept designed for watch parties, galas, sponsor activations, corporate events, and large-scale celebrations.

The concept started as a proof of concept and quickly evolved into something much bigger.

Guests select the country they want to represent, hold up the country name during the photo, and moments later receive a fully transformed image inspired by that nation’s colors, fan culture, and energy.

The reaction has been immediate.

People don’t just want to watch the event. They want to feel part of it.

Why Participation Matters at Live Events

One of the things I’ve learned over the years producing events is that guest participation changes everything.

Decorations are important.
Entertainment matters.
But interaction is what people actually remember.

The most successful experiences are usually the ones where guests stop being observers and become active participants in the event itself.

That’s exactly why this concept works.

Guests are not randomly assigned a country. They choose the country they identify with, support, or simply feel excited about.

That small detail creates a much more personal connection to the experience.

The Transformation Becomes the Entertainment

One of the most interesting parts of developing this concept has been watching people react to the “before and after” process itself.

The original image feels grounded and recognizable. The transformed image feels cinematic, immersive, and stylized around the selected country’s visual identity.

That contrast becomes part of the entertainment.

It also translates extremely well to social media because the transformation itself creates curiosity and engagement.

Every country can have a completely different aesthetic, color palette, atmosphere, and energy, which keeps the experience feeling fresh from one guest to the next.

More Than a Traditional Photo Booth

What excites me most about this concept is that it starts moving beyond what people traditionally think of as a photo booth.

This can become:

  • fan engagement

  • sponsor activation

  • branded content creation

  • watch party entertainment

  • social-first event marketing

  • trading-card style keepsakes

  • interactive guest experiences


The possibilities become much larger than simply taking a photo.

Guests can even receive custom-designed trading card style graphics featuring their selected country, creating a personalized keepsake tied directly to the event.

People Don’t Ask for What They Don’t Know Exists

One of the most common reactions I’ve heard while testing this concept has been:

“I didn’t even know something like this existed.”

And honestly, that reinforces something I’ve noticed repeatedly in event production.

People rarely ask for experiences they’ve never seen before.

Part of our job is helping clients imagine possibilities before they know to ask for them.

As brands, venues, bars, nonprofits, and corporate events begin planning activations around next year’s tournament, I believe experiences like this are going to become increasingly common because they combine personalization, participation, and shareable content into one cohesive experience.

Looking Ahead

Right now, this is still in the development and concept-testing phase, but the response so far has been incredibly encouraging.

What started as a few proof-of-concept reels has already sparked conversations about watch parties, sponsor integrations, corporate activations, and themed fan experiences.

And honestly, I think we’re only scratching the surface of where AI-enhanced event experiences are headed.
