The Ability Beyond Gala at The Amber Room Colonnade is one of those events where everything comes together. Strong theme, engaged guests, and a flow that carries from start to finish.

We’ve had the opportunity to work with Ability Beyond for a number of years across both their gala and golf outings. Each year builds on the last, and this one brought a concept we could really lean into.

Starting with the Patio Reception

The evening began outside with a patio cocktail reception.

This is where a roaming setup works best. Guests are arriving, reconnecting, and moving naturally through the space. Instead of asking them to step away, the photo experience comes to them.

We captured both traditional images and AI-driven photos throughout cocktail hour. It set the tone early and kept participation high without interrupting the flow of the event.

“Night With Neighbors” and a Recognizable AI Moment

This year’s theme, “Night With Neighbors,” opened the door for a more creative approach.

We introduced an AI photo experience inspired by a familiar Mr. Rogers moment, placing guests into a recognizable scene. It was immediate. Guests understood it right away and leaned into it.

This reel also showed a mix of behind-the-scenes clips and final images, giving a full view of how the concept came together.

And then there are the moments you can’t plan.

At one point, a guest borrowed the sequin blazer and took it onto the dance floor. That kind of interaction says everything about the comfort level and energy in the room. It becomes part of the experience, not just something people observe.

Transitioning into the Main Room

As the event moved inside, we shifted to a stationary setup.

We ran 2 x 6 prints with a matte gold sequin backdrop, giving guests a clean, consistent output. As always, guests had the option to receive prints on the spot or text images directly to their phones.

This portion of the night also featured one of our newer attendants, who stepped in and handled the room with confidence. Strong guest interaction, smooth pacing, and exactly the kind of presence that keeps the experience moving.

The Final Moments of the Night

The main room carried the energy through the rest of the evening.

Live music, the fundraising auction, and a steady flow of guests through the booth all working together. It’s that combination that defines a successful gala. No single element carries it. Everything supports everything else.

This final look at the event shows how it all comes together when the room is fully in motion.
